Tommy Johnson is one of the greatest Delta Blues musicians, born in 1895, a prolific blues writer. Tommy Johnson’s influence on musicians can not be understated. In 2001 Bonnie Raitt paid to have a new headstone constructed at his gravesite in Mississippi.

Come On In my Kitchen is a 10 bar blues in the key of G. Robert Johnson at the Gunter Hotel in San Antonio, Texas used this song at his first recording session. Johnson’s recording was released on the Vocalion label (no. 03563) as a “race record”.
